A base,
a beginning.
Munsyari sits in the upper reaches of Pithoragarh and works as the gateway to the Johar region.
For generations, routes from here followed the Gori Ganga towards high villages, glaciers and old trans-Himalayan trade paths. Today it is both a quiet place to watch the Panchachuli peaks and a base for longer journeys to Milam, Ralam and Namik.

Khaliya Top
An alpine meadow reached from Balati Bend, known for wide views of Panchachuli, Nanda Devi, Nanda Kot and neighbouring Himalayan peaks.
Tribal Heritage Museum
A small private museum, also known locally as Masterji Museum, preserving objects and stories connected with the Shauka community and Johar Valley heritage.
Dummer Waterfall
A lesser-known local waterfall reached through rough mountain terrain. Access and conditions should be confirmed locally, with a guide recommended before visiting.
Maheshwari & Thamri Kund
Mountain lakes around Munsyari that offer quieter walks and a closer connection with the forests and ridgelines.
