Adi Kailash is a sacred mountain in the border region of Pithoragarh, traditionally associated with Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati.
The journey follows the Dharchula–Gunji side of Kumaon before turning into the Kuti valley towards Jolingkong. At the heart of the experience are the mountain, Parvati Sarovar and the quiet ritual landscape around them.
This is a sensitive high-altitude journey. DHURA will publish it only after current permits, health requirements, road access, local operations and seasonal conditions are verified.

Gauri Kund
A holy water body associated with Goddess Parvati and part of the sacred geography described around Adi Kailash.
Adi Kailash Temple
A place of worship dedicated to Lord Shiva, visited by pilgrims arriving in the Jolingkong area.
Gunji
An important high-altitude junction on the shared approach towards Adi Kailash and the Om Parvat side of the route.
Kuti Village
A high village in the Kuti valley and an important cultural stop before the final approach towards Jolingkong.
Jolingkong
The high-altitude area from which travellers approach the sacred lake and views of Adi Kailash.

access.
The Pithoragarh District ILP portal states that an Inner Line Permit is mandatory for every traveller going beyond Chiyalekh. Adi Kailash visitors should obtain it before beginning the restricted part of the journey.

Register, log in and apply through the official district ILP portal. Carry the approved permit and valid identification during the route.
